Session Description
Understanding past sea-level fluctuations is essential to forecast future scenarios under ongoing climate change. This session focuses on Late Pleistocene and Holocene sea-level markers—such as beachrocks, tidal notches, coral terraces, and lagoonal systems—as tools for reconstructing paleo-environments and assessing coastal vulnerability. We invite contributions on geomorphological, sedimentological, and geochronological studies, especially those employing novel dating techniques (e.g., luminescence, U/Th) and survey methods (e.g., UAVs, LiDAR, ROV). Emphasis will be placed on the role of local tectonic and climatic contexts, cementation patterns, and mitigation strategies in endangered coastal areas.
