Session Description

Trace fossils such as tunnels, footprints, burrows, pupation chambers, feeding signs, nests can act as ichnological proxies. They not only provide information on the behavioural and ecological aspects of organisms but are also essential for reconstructing paleoclimate and substrate conditions. This session looks at ichnological studies that link palaeobiology and sedimentology to reveal new information about the Quaternary. Contributions on ichnology, ichnoentomology, and bioturbation of deposits are welcome, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches combining stratigraphy, palaeoclimatology and Quaternary palaeoecology.
