Session Description
INQUA will be celebrating its centennial commemoration in 2028. Over thirty years ago, Stephen Porter described INQUA as “an interdisciplinary mix of scientists from many diverse fields who have a common interest: how our modern environment has been shaped by the processes and events of the last several million years”, which remains true to this day. This session invites contributions from all fields of Quaternary research across all commissions. Topics may include but are not limited to the major progress in radiometric dating, innovative development of paleoenvironmental proxies or models, seminal identification of major climatic transitions or events, insights on the attribution of forcing and feedback mechanisms, and paleo data integration of regional and global significance. Contributions of reflections on milestones of scientific discoveries and advances that have stimulated, led and influenced the development of Quaternary research over the past decades are particularly welcome.
