The Loni Nadi is a tributary of the Gomti River, contributing to the intricate drainage system of the Lucknow district. Originating within the district, it flows southeastward, eventually merging with the Gomti. A predominantly flat terrain with a gentle slope from the northwest to the southeast, aligning with the flow direction of the Gomti and its tributaries, including the Loni Nadi. The area is part of the Central Ganges Plain, composed mainly of late Pleistocene to recent alluvial deposits. These deposits consist of light alluvium and dun gravels. Notably, nodular limestone formations, known locally as 'kankar,' are found at depths ranging from 2 to 5 feet below the surface. Dilkusha Kothi is a historic edifice situated in the Dilkusha area of Lucknow. Constructed around 1805 under the patronage of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan, it served as a hunting lodge and summer retreat. The design of Dilkusha Kothi draws inspiration from Seaton Delaval Hall in Northumberland, England, reflecting the English Baroque architectural style.  The structure was built using lakhauri bricks, a traditional small-sized brick, and was plastered with lime, a common practice in Mughal-eraconstructions. Located near the banks of the Gomti River, Dilkusha Kothi is set amidst expansive gardens. The surrounding landscape is typical of the Central Ganges Plain, featuring flat terrains with fertile alluvial soils.
