Session Description
This session will explore the maturing use of sedimentary ancient DNA (sedaDNA) to reconstruct past ecological communities from both terrestrial and marine ecosystems at high taxonomic resolution. The presentations will highlight case studies from regions around the world, cover a broad range of timescales (tens to millions of years), and highlight the integration of sedaDNA data with other (palaeo)ecological and environmental proxies to disentangle drivers of change. The session will also highlight cutting-edge methodological developments in how we reconstruct palaeoecosystems using sedaDNA.
