Session Description
This session explores recent advances in carbonate bio/geochemistry and their applications in reconstructing Quaternary paleoclimates. We welcome contributions on proxy development, calibration, and carbonate based paleoclimatic reconstruction, as well as innovative analytical and isotopic techniques. Special focus will be given to how carbonate archives, such as speleothems, corals, and biogenic carbonates, enhance our understanding of climate variability, environmental change, and human-environment interactions. We encourage interdisciplinary studies that link carbonate-based reconstructions to societal challenges, including water resource management, geohazards, and climate adaptation. Contributions addressing gender equity, early-career researcher involvement, and capacity building in underrepresented regions are also strongly encouraged.
