Jajmau is a suburb situated on the eastern side of Kanpur, along the banks of the Ganges River. It lies approximately 10 kilometers from the Kanpur city center. Archaeological excavations have revealed that Jajmau dates back to 1300-1200 BC, making it one of India's oldest inhabited regions. Discoveries include ancient house complexes and pottery items, indicating a rich historical legacy. Bithoor is a town located approximately 23.4 kilometers north of Kanpur, positioned on the right bank of the Ganges River. The Ganges River near Bithoor exhibits braided river characteristics, where the river channel splits into multiple interweaving streams, forming mid-channel bars known as braid bars. These bars are typically composed of sand and gravel, resulting from the river's high sediment load and variable flow rates.
