Escape of fluids and gases from subsurface reservoirs to the seafloor is a geological process that has shaped seafloor morphology, sediment dynamics, marine geohazards, and ecosystems during the Quaternary. Occurring from shelves to abyssal plains, seepage follows subsurface pathways controlled by sedimentary structures, gas hydrate stability zone, faults, and fractures, forming morphologies as pockmarks and mud volcanoes. Emissions range from cold seeps to hydrothermal vents (200-400°C). Advances in marine geophysics, hydro-acoustics, autonomous underwater and remotely operated vehicles now reveal fluid-related features with unprecedented detail. Combined with sedimentological, geochemical, and biological data, these insights are transforming our understanding of seepage dynamics. This session invites contributions exploring the role of fluid flow in shaping seafloor features, sediment records, tectonic interactions, and ecosystems, with a focus on multi-scale, multi-proxy studies from all marine environments.
