Session Description
Terrestrial archives offer detailed insights into local to regional palaeoenvironmental responses to past global climatic changes. These records serve as important benchmarks for testing conceptual ideas and the outcome of numerical climate models.
This session welcomes contributions on all types of terrestrial archives across the Asian Monsoon region, including palaeolimnological, dendrochronological, speleothem, or loess records. Each palaeoclimate archive and the associated palaeo-proxies used to reconstruct past climatic and environmental conditions have their own benefits and strengths, but also face inherent weaknesses such as limitations in temporal resolution, spatial distribution, and analytical uncertainties. We therefore particularly encourage submissions featuring multiproxy reconstructions, data-model comparisons, proxy validations, and inter-proxy comparisons.
