Session Description
The Quaternary period has witnessed the dynamic advancement of humans, from their earliest appearance on Earth to advancing technologically while adapting to challenging global environments. This session aims to focus on the hunter-gatherer-forager-fishers and early settlers (Homo sapiens) of the late Quaternary. The session aims to synthesise data related to lithic production, environmental and landscape adaptations, early settlement systems, the emergence of early sedentary settlement patterns, as well as symbolic behaviour. The session invites abstracts on multiproxy datasets on lithic technology, paleoenvironmental reconstructions, geoarchaeology, geochronology, and landscape archaeology to improve our understanding of hunter-gatherers-foragers-fishers and early human settlers or early sedentary communities.
